The brand new PlayStation 5 console got a new name and brand new makeover which we will see in winter 2020 with the final layout. But here are the few details which we found out. It is known as DualSense, the console is the first console since PlayStation One not to use the classic DualShock name that was the standard for Sony.

Announced in a blog post on the official PlayStation Blog, this new console brings a host of new enhancements aimed at attracting your senses while playing PS5 games, providing a new feeling of being immersed in players. From new adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and a built-in microphone, Sony also decided to remove the light strip on the PS4 DualShock controller in favor of the LED surrounding the touchpad. Immediately, you’ll notice that this is the first PlayStation console to go to a two-tone color scheme.

New Features with amazing new Solid Colors

Previously, they were all in one solid color, along with the console itself, so this could give us an indication of the final console color scheme as well. The console seems to be using a USB-C port, so it seems likely that this is how it will charge the DualSense controller. Sony promised that the built-in battery will last longer playing well without adding too much weight to the console.

Additionally, Sony decided to retain the touchpad function and reposition the light bar, so that the console would ‘explode’. On DualShock 4, the light bar sits at the top of the console. Now it sits on each side of the touchpad, giving DualSense a slightly larger look and feel. You’ll also notice that the “Share” button from the old design of the PS4 has disappeared, but we’ll get to that later. Sony says that DualSense has been tested by a wide range of players in a variety of hand sizes, for optimum comfort with a great work environment. The company’s goal with DualSense is to give players the feeling that they are moving into the game world once the box is opened.

Haptic reactions and adaptive stimuli The tangible notes add a variety of strong sensations that you’ll feel when playing, and gives Sony an example of the ability to feel “sluggish driving through the mud.” To this end, the company also decided to incorporate adaptive catalysts into the L2 and R2 buttons in DualSense, which means that you can really feel the tension of your actions. Furthermore, there are a few more interesting features which Playstation will add like the Built-in microphone, create a button for creating epic game content and we hope that sony improves all previous error which users found in the PS.

“DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5. The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future. To the PlayStation community, I truly want to thank you for sharing this exciting journey with us as we head toward PS5’s launch in Holiday 2020. We look forward to sharing more information about PS5, including the console design, in the coming months.”
